IT Employment opportunities in Kerala
Kerala IT joins the Southern IT league by promoting the first phase of the Infopark Koratty in Thrissur. Chief minister Mr. V. S. Achuthanandan, inaugurated the third park, emphasizing that in the next two years 2, 00,000 job opportunities would be created in the IT sector.
The Infopark, allotted 40,000 sq. ft. of IT space, is nearing completion. Thirteen companies have bought a considerable amount of area to set up their working space that will provide employment to about 500 professionals. Koratty is being considered as the next hotspot for IT investments after Kochi. The Infopark has advantages like being 40 km from Kochi, 14 km from Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery, which is positive indicator to the various IT companies as against in other states.
Strong Infrastructure, good trade facilities and services by Infopark, leading educational institutions of national / international standards and hospitals at reach in Koratty are adding to the advantage.
“A Cyber park at Kozhikode on the similar lines of IT park which is already functioning, would be accessible soon. The Cyber Park will have smaller IT parks under its umbrella at Kannur and Kasargode districts,” said Achuthanandan.
Two hundred IT companies are already employing Thirty thousand employees at the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark campus in Kochi, which itself is an employment indicator in the IT sector in Kerala in the coming years.
